This is our signature class. It's a combination of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. It starts off gently and gradually increases in intensity with longer holds and a focus on increasing internal awareness, giving you more time to experience the poses on a deeper level.
This class is great for beginners and experienced yogis alike. We'll go at a slower pace and give you time to settle into each pose, providing extra instruction to help your alignment and how to modify each pose to your body. Even if you think you're experienced, you'd be surprised how much you can learn from going Back to Basics.
Do you suffer from back pain or occasional discomfort? Our Yoga for Back Care class is designed to help you alleviate pain, improve mobility, and strengthen your back muscles as well as your core.
Yin Yoga is a slower-paced, more meditative version of the popular physical and spiritual discipline of yoga. In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues (such as the ligaments) rather than focusing on the muscles. As a result, the asanas are more passive holds, with little muscular engagement. The challenge of a yin practice is to find comfort in the discomfort that occasionally arises.
Vinyasa is a term used to describe continuous or dynamic movements between yoga poses. This flow of movement is excellent for getting your heart rate going and working up a sweat. Vinyasa can also help increase flexibility, strength, stability, calmness, and focus.
A marriage of breath and movement. The poses are taken from the Ashtanga yoga Primary series and adapted into a Vinyasa Flow with longer holds. You'll need a moderate level of experience.
Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that encourages physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Appropriate for all levels, restorative yoga is practiced at a slow pace, focusing on long holds, stillness, and deep breathing.
This is an ashtanga-inspired flow class which focuses on strength building. You'll find long holds to challenge you and you will definitely break a sweat.
This class is for anyone else who would like to work on balance, core strength, and building bone density. We'll go at a slower pace so everyone has time to settle into the poses.
Somatic Yoga focuses on subtle sensation within the body while moving slowly and mindfully. Yoga, when practiced in this way, has been shown to be very effective in healing and maintaining mental health. The focus of this practice is to increase interoceptive awareness which has been shown to decrease symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress. Combined with Somatic Experiencing techniques like grounding and resourcing and guided by the Polyvagal theory, we can meet trauma where it resides; in the body, the nervous system, and the limbic system. Working in this way helps survivors find feelings of safety, control, and empowerment resulting in less reactivity and emotional dysregulation.
Pilates is a mind-body exercise program focusing on controlled movements and breathing to improve core strength, flexibility, balance, and posture. Pilates can be a beneficial exercise for mental health. It promotes stress reduction, endorphin release, improved body image, focus, and relaxation, which can lead to reduced anxiety, depression, and enhanced overall well-being.
